Here’s something odd: a garage/psychedelic dance party. Presiding over”Guys in the Garage Night” at The New Frontier will be the mysterious DJ Chelsea Fantasia. At the time of this writing, not much is known of the DJ. What I do know is Tarek Wegner (Night Beats) and Spencer Kelly (Basemint) will also be spinning. These are two dudes with a deep love for and obsession with music, specifically that of the ’60s. It would be reasonable to expect an exhibition of some of those long-lost nuggets that find themselves buried in closets and discount bins for years at a time, only to be unearthed and displayed for an unprepared public. As for dancing: after Strength’s recent dance party, my still-sore muscles can attest that Tacoma people are willing to get out on the floor.
