It's a new week, which means it's time for a new installment of Bobble Tiki's South Sound music news and notes column. Without further ado, let's get rolling.

Last week, as readers may or may not recall, Bobble Tiki was aflutter with excitement over the Weekly Volcano's new Web site - weeklyvolcano.com. Specifically, Bobble Tiki was raving about the "band profile" section of the Web site, which allows any local band with half a teaspoon of motivation and an Internet connection to log on, create a page, and introduce each and every visitor to weeklyvolcano.com to their band.

It's a win, win.

But it gets better.

This week, sitting around the Weekly Volcano's big, war room conference table, the powers that be came up with an amazing plan - and if you're in a local band you'll want to take note.

On March 11 the Weekly Volcano will publish its second annual Music Issue - which, in addition to the best local music content you'll find anywhere, will include a South Sound band directory - a quick and easy guide for South Sound music fans to familiarize themselves with a crapload of local bands.

How is the Weekly Volcano going to compile this South Sound band directory, you ask?

Simple.

Any band that signs up for a band profile between now and March will automatically be included.

In short: Sign up for a band profile at weeklyvolcano.com. Introduce yourself to the masses. And get included in the Volcano Music Issue's South Sound band directory come March - all in one easy step.

Moving on to other news, the Weekly Volcano caught up with Tyler Pratt of Tacoma's Trip the Light Fantastic this week on Spew - the Weekly Volcano's blog. Recently reunited after a lengthy hiatus, the spacey, indie instrumentals of Trip the Light have been sorely missed around T-Town. Luckily, the band is happy to be back and looking forward to the future.

"We all came back to Trip the Light we decided it was going to be all new - start from ground zero," says Pratt. "We kind of had to start from scratch, which was a very good thing for us musically speaking."

Trip the Light Fantastic will be at Jazzbones Sunday, and at The New Frontier Lounge next Thursday, Feb. 4.
