Rumor has it Café Momo offers some of the best Asian Karaoke around. Order up a round of Korean-style crispy, spicy chicken wings and your favorite cocktail and catch some horrific, beautiful and humorous renditions of Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Travis Tritt. According to a karaoke expert friend of mine, you can't miss the joint as it's pink and features a white cat painted on the side. This is the real deal, friends, so no weak performers please.

Another favorite (Had to ask around on these ones because I don't karaoke. Ever.) is Simya Karaoke and Café, or, as they are sometimes called, Café Happys. You know with a name like Café Happys, this place is not messing around. I picture karaoke gods and goddesses singing to their hearts' content, surrounded by adoring fans, heaping plates of udon noodles, lush fake foliage and perhaps even fish tanks or fountains ... all in the disguise of a shoddy building in south Lakewood.

Also noteworthy is Sampan in Lacey, where, according to lore, regulars sing from their barstool.
