This past Tuesday marked the official opening day for the Lakewood Farmers Market. The market is held every Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Ft. Steilacoom Park and features a large selection of vendors. 

Families can pick up local fresh produce, play lawn games, listen to live music and pick up some delicious eats at the rotating food trucks. The market will run every Tuesday through Sept 17. The market also accepts SNAP/EBT benefits. 

Music lovers will enjoy the City of Lakewood's Summer Nights at the Pavilions Concerts happening at Fort Steilacoom Park on Tuesdays in conjunction with the farmers market. Starting June 18 -excluding July 16 and 23- families can set-up lawn chairs and blankets and listen to a 90-minute set beginning at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. These concerts are family friendly and a great opportunity to grab a snack at the farmers market and then catch a show. Don't be shy, plan to bust a move on the dance floor! Full schedule of musical performances below:

SummerFEST is another not to miss event happening in Lakewood this summer. This annual summer event draws thousands of families to Ft. Steilacoom park for a day of fun. This year's event will take place on Saturday, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Families can expect food trucks, beer gardens, live music, fire dancers, a pop-up skate park, a car show, a balloon glow, a drone show, interactive sports and arts for all ages. 

Some of the food trucks on this year's line-up are Fisher Fair Scones, Stacks Burgers, Hayward Gourmet Popcorn, Manic Meatballs, Tin Hut BBQ, Dippin Dots Ice Cream, Happy Corn, Break Through Huli Huli and so much more. 

The Wenatchee Youth Circus will have multiple performances throughout the day and families won't want to miss out on watching death-defying stunts as motorcycle riders perform tricks throughout the day.

Be sure to stop by the international stage which will feature a multitude of cultural performances all day.

Be sure to hang out until the end of the day to experience the balloon glow and watch hot air balloons illuminate the night sky.

Parking could be limited at the event site, but Pierce College will serve as the off-site parking option with a shuttle running to and from the event.
