Indiana-native turned Olympian Double B is everywhere. I think it's because he doesn't shy away from the many music opportunities that come his way. One night you might catch him in Seattle competing in an emcee battle put on by the Zulu Nation; the next night Double B might be opening for some touring Juggalo rappers in Olympia. It's safe to say Double B likes to remain busy - and is definitely getting his name out in the process. Besides traveling up and down Interstate-5 for shows and battles, Double B just released his new EP, Laundry Day, which dropped digitally Feb. 9.

The EP brings the energy of an Evergreen State College basement party with lyrics that relate to the real life Double B. Handling all the production and mixing himself, Double B says he recorded every verse on the EP in one take, claiming the imperfections are what give the record a personality.

Most of the tracks on Laundry Day are older songs that Double B has been performing for some time. He says people had been wondering how to get a hold of them so he decided he would give the people what they wanted.

"I've gotten to the point where I've kind of become a different person then I was when I wrote these," says Double B.

In mid-January Double B held his release party for physical copies of Laundry Day and packed out the Don't Stop Printing shop in downtown Olympia. His past performances with Never Sleep (the Oly-based hip-hop duo he co-founded with Dan Fajans) apparently left a good impression on Olympians, and most seem to believe that although he's performing solo now he will still be able to give an explosive and entertaining performance.

"At a live show the presence and energy you bring mean even more to me then the actual music sounds," says Double B. "You don't go to hear a show, you go to see a show."

Double B plans to drop "Zombie" March 1, the first single off his next album - which he's already working on. Double B says he's also gearing up to debut a new and, as of now, unnamed group, in which he'll team with a drummer and a DJ.
