The Hands On Children's Museum in Olympia has a travelling exhibit on the way celebrating "Japan and Nature: Spirits of the Season." Opening Aug. 5, the exhibit features four interactive areas representing a different season and regional setting in Japan. Celebrate spring in Fukuoka and practice your calligraphy, summer at Lake Biwa and go on a bug hunt, take in fall in Kyoto and visit a shrine, and during winter, visit Sapporo and enjoy a New Year's game. The exhibit runs through Jan. 7, 2007. The exhibit is part of the Freeman Foundation Asian Exhbit initiative sending three programs to the Northwest.
