Elton John will bring his 2006 "The Captain and the Kid Tour" to Seattle's KeyArena Sept. 22.  Trailing his golden coattails will be his long-time band: guitarist Davey Jonstone, keyboardist Guy Babylon, bassist Bob Birch, percussionist John Mahon and drummer Nigel Olsson.  The tour supports his new album, The Captain and The Kid, which will be release in September.

Today, at long last, the Raconteurs debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers, finally hits the shelves.  One can only assume this to be a good thing.
The Raconteurs, incase you're in the dark, are four fellas from Detroit, one of them happening to be Jack White. At least that's what they'd like you to believe. In truth, the Raconteurs are Jack White, and three fellas from Detroit about to reap huge financial dividends from being in a band with Jack White. They'd like you to believe the Raconteurs are an equal collaboration between four musicians, but the world will never view this band as more than a side project.
Perhaps they are just that. Either way, the record should be worth purchasing. They'll perform on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" this Thursday, May 18. â€" Matt Driscoll

The Weekly Volcano just received this release from the Broadway District:
Tacoma, WA â€" The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the $5.1 million renovation of the lobby of Tacoma's historic Pantages Theater on May 23 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The lobby renovation is a joint project between the City of Tacoma and BCPA and will bring about long needed changes and updates to the theater's amenities. The City of Tacoma has provided $1.3 million in support and the remaining $3.8 million was raised by BCPA through corporate, foundation and individual gifts.
