Greatest metal songs

VixenClicking through Bobble Tiki's upper-end digital-cable channels with a mix of disgust on a recent vacation Bobble Tiki spent some quality painful time with "Metal Mania" on VH1 Classic. Of all the programming blocks on this round-the-clock outlet of forgotten music videos from yesteryear, none are more tragic-comic than "Metal Mania," which runs nothing but heavy-metal clips, mostly from the woeful era of ’80s hair metal where bands rock out in industrial plants that only manufacture sparks, rubbing bare shoulders and admiring one another’s immaculate hair and perfectly ripped jeans. Musically bludgeoning.
Like a car crash Bobble Tiki will tuen in tonight as VH1 kicks off their special Metal Month with the "40 Greatest Metal Songs of All Time" at 9 p.m. PDT.  What is your Top 40?  Is Jackyl on your list?  Is faux-slutty, powder-puff Vixen on your list?  Send Bobble Tiki your Top 5 metal songs of all time. â€" Bobble Tiki

Where's the worm?

The Matador, a two-location Seattle chain that bills itself as a tequila bar, will open at 8th and Pacific in downtown Tacoma sometime this summer.  Few details are available but heck, how can you go wrong with a tequila bar?  Muy bien! â€" Jason de Paul

Bus crushes Barefoot

Even though Barefoot Studios was hit by a bus that took out its entire office and everything in it last Thursday, they are still open for business. Luckily no one was in the office, not even the cats. The last customers that were chatting in the parking lot had just left 20 minutes before the accident. Reportedly a large tow truck lost control and rammed a city bus pushing it through the building. â€" Angela Jossy

Our hero

The folks at Tacoma's Northwest Costume (2315 Sixth Ave.) are such fans of the Weekly Volcano, they take the copies of our rag and insert them into the bags with customers' purchases.  Talk about nice. That certainly earns them a plug on our blog. Northwest Costume, Northwest Costume, Northwest Costume, Northwest Costume, Northwest Costume. â€" Ken Swarner
