STEPH DEROSA: DINNER WITH DEROSA >>>
I offer sincere apologies to my beloved five Dinner with DeRosa readers. Last week I bitched and moaned about being sick, boo-hoo I have a cold, feed me soup and Popsicles, you remember that, right?
Last Thursday I was feeling better and decided to take a night out to go see one of my favorite local bands at Masa: Handful of Luvin’. By my side were an amazing group of friends. I had with me: Gayle Selden, Bandito Betty, the KAke, Snoops (Tacoma Beer Society), and a new member to the group: Joe Izenman. Jenny Fab made a special appearance, and I think I caught a glimpse of Brad Allen with a hooker on his arm and a fifth of whiskey in the other as he strolled by on Sixth Avenue. I had a great time listening to a great band along with some great margaritas and some great friends.
Unfortunately, it kicked my ass. I won’t go on and complain too much, but to put it simply I’ll say: three days of fever and an emergency room visit Sunday morning was the highlight of my whirlwind weekend. The nice doctor gave me a prescription that had some sort of lethal combination of antihistamine, cough elixir, and oxycodone. Yum.
This morning I woke up drenched in sweat from head to toe, pillow soaked and sheets ready to be washed. Fucking gross, right? Yeah, well aside from the offending and overbearing cough, I’m feeling much better.
Why am I telling you this, you ask? Because while I relished in the sweaty delirium last night; I had one of the best, most psyco-delic Dinner with DeRosa dreams ever. You want to hear about it? It was pretty fucking bad ass, and I’ll tell you all about it in just a few hours.
Happy Monday everyone!
