Jameson St. Patrick’s Day is a time for festivities. And despite being a holiday that celebrates Saint Patrick, one of the patron saints of Ireland, the Irish and non-Irish alike participate (especially in the beer drinkin’). Around the South Sound lots of St. Patty’s Day events are in store.

Crown Bar
Charlie McManus invites everyone to his Crown Bar tonight for Irish trivia, McManus’ traditional Irish stew and a selection of Irish whiskeys, brews and artisan cocktails.

Doyle’s Public House
Each year, Doyle’s tents off its parking lot. Inside the tent you’ll find the warmth of many, many people, and a hurkin’ stage for fun bands. Starting at 3:45 p.m., Doyle’s musical festivities will kick off with May/Nyberg for some Celtic good times. Following, you’ll get to see Pioneers West, The Toughtimes, Top Heavy Crush and The Missionary Position. Mandolin Café
The McKassons, a traditional Celtic group, perform from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Laura Cortese also will perform. Irish food will be served. While the café serves wine and beer (and even ran out of Guinness last St. Patrick’s Day), families are welcome.

Ramblin’ Jacks
The Straw Hat String Band, a multi-instrumental group that has influences from Irish, Scottish, Canadian folk, Latin, blues, and rock will perform traditional Irish music from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Sunset Grill

St. Patrick’s Day with the Grafton Street Academy Irish Dancers, live Irish music, Irish food and beverages, 5 p.m., at Paddy Coyne’s in downtown Tacoma.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with live Irish music, 8 p.m., at The Spar in Old Town Tacoma.
