Intervision

BOBBLE TIKI: LOVES THIS BAND'S GROOVE >>>

Intervision Bobble Tiki loves Steely Dan and Jamiroquai. What can he say? Call him left handed if you must, but Bobble Tiki has no shame. Bobble Tiki loves to groove â€" and for this reason he loves Portland’s Intervision. Singer Paul Creighton, guitarist Tony Stovin, keyboardist Kit Taylor, bassist Mike Glidden, saxophonist Joshua Cliburn and drummer Jon Barber met at Clackamas Community College, located south of Portland in Oregon City. At the time, it was 2004, the six friends probably didn’t realize that within a few years they’d be playing Portland’s massive, Willamette Week sponsored MusicFEST NW or opening for the Neville Brothers â€" or, for that matter, being awarded the “Best R&B Song of the Year” at the 2008 Independent Music Awards. What the six friends probably did realize is they shared a passion for challenging compositions with ferocious pop sensibility. They probably also realized they had a chance to put the “sex” back in sextet, which they’ve effectively done. Check Intervision out at Doyle’s and the Taste of Tacoma this weekend.

Jonas Bros!!!!!!!!!!

KAREN WILSON: AN 8-YEAR-OLD GIRL SHARES HER EXCITEMENT >>>

Jonas Brothers Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! I’m going to see the Jonas Brothers at the Tacoma Dome! Oh my God!

Oh. Hi. My name is Karen Wilson. I’m 8. And I looooove the Jonas Brothers! I saw them for the first time on the Disney Channel with Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus after High School Musical 2. My brother says the Jonas Brothers are “frat boy bitches,” and he laughs every time I talk about their last album, A Little Bit Longer. My brother is 14, and he’s kind of emo. He wears shirts that show his nipples. I don’t get it.

Anyway, the Jonas Brothers are awesome. They’re from New Jersey. My dad says New Jersey is a “hole.” There are three of them â€" Nick, who is totally hot, Joe, who is totally hot, and Kevin, who is totally hot. Nick started singing when he was around my age. He was in a lot of plays, which my brother says makes him a dork. But I don’t care, because he is sooooo hot!

Blood drive for cupcakes

SUZY STUMP: MUST. BE CAREFUL. >>>

Back in October I wrote about a blood drive in association with Cascade Regional Blood Services. I got in big trouble. I wrote this:

Chatting with new BFF Jamie from Cascade Regional Blood Services regarding their blood drives in November I learned that CRBS will launch a program titled Pint for a Pint â€" a program where if you donate a pint of blood you will receive a complimentary pint of beer.

Um, it was a coupon for a pint not an actual pint or something. BFF Jamie did not want to be my BFF.

Well, this time I’m going to let the press release speak for itself:

In response to the shortage of blood donations in our area, the Young Professionals Network of Tacoma-Pierce County is responding by partnering with Cascade Regional Blood Services and Hello Cupcake to sponsor a Blood Drive on July 6th from 4:30-7pm next to Cutters Point, downtown Tacoma.  Each person who donates will receive a free cupcake from Hello Cupcake.

The Harmon is next door to Cutters. They have lots of beer. Just saying.
