EMILY GOES TO FRANCE >>>

Last Friday Emily Alm handed out beers during the 72 Hour Film Festival.  Today, she's at the Cannes International Film Festival - no doubt on the other side of the beer counter.

Alm, director of communications at The Grand Cinema, is in Cannes, France, with a laminated badge and a list of films to see. Lucky for us, she'll be blogging her experiences. Here's what she sent our way before she left:

As most of you know, I will be venturing to Cannes, France in the very near future! I'm lucky enough to be "accredited" (very fancy, right?) so I will be able to attend films during the Cannes Film Festival, and have access to some of the festival areas where film professionals will be hanging out and doing business. It should be exciting, but also a little nerve-wracking! I am very much looking forward to everything the trip will bring me, it is truly my dream trip. I'm scheduled to depart on Monday afternoon (the 17th) - and let's hope that darn ash cloud gets as far away from Europe and my flight path as possible! - and will return home on Sunday, May 23rd. The festival area has some Internet stations, and there are a couple Internet cafes near where I'll be staying, so I do plan on writing updates (hopefully some exciting celeb sightings, in addition to stories about my experience in general) frequently while I'm there.

You can follow Alm's red carpet coverage in two spots:
