SECOND HELPING >>>
Ali Kashi, the man behind Cheers South Hill Grill, Greek Café, Blue Olive Ultra Lounge, Bella Vita, Lipstix and several other restaurants (and strip joints) we can't remember, will open another Cheers Bar and Grill in the former McCabe's American Café spot at 2611 Pacific Ave. He told us the new Cheers Bar and Grill Downtown will be similar to the one in South Hill in terms of the menu and style - even sharing the same management.
Kashi has his sights on a March 1, 2011 opening.
In the downtown Tacoma Rumor Mill: There's a new Mediterranean restaurant coming to the former Sea Grill spot, and a wine, cheese and meats shop will open on St. Helens.

Great, yet another place for the gang type to take over and turn into the ghetto.

Ali wasn't the man behind the blue olive, they hired him to try to save it.. and he failed at that.. not his fault though :P)

Oh Geez... I wonder if they'll have a pole? I am a tad bit bummed that that building was too 'high end' for a true Tacoma local to rehab and run. Time will tell. It appears that an intensive remodel is taking place, so at the very least, it will be ready for someone to take over after Ali pimps/sells it out. I'll be first in line!

Looks aren't everything. The service is horrible. 12 people in the place on a Saturday afternoon and took over an hour to get our food, which was cold when it came, no condiments or silverware. Servers appear to be poorly trained and for the supposedly 3 cooks in the kitchen, if you can's serve 12 people hate to see when it full and there are 100 people there. Certainly won't go back!

Went on saturday... HORRIBLE service!! took an hour to get our food, which I guess were supposed to eat with our fingers and it was COLD!!! There were more employees than customers and still they couldn't keep up.. Don't waste your time or money!!
