WEDNESDAY, AUG. 10 >>>
1. The Warehouse presents two Doe Bay Festival bands - Ok Sweetheart and Elk & Boar - in an intimate setting - as a prefunk for the Orcas Island music fest. Plus Charlie Parr arrives all the way from Minnesota. And, Jessie Fouts will dazzle with her spoken word. The show is at the Nurture Healing Center (739 St. Helens, Tacoma) from 8-11:30 p.m.
2. It's certainly easy to get caught up in a midweek routine. Another Wednesday lunch, another Lean Cuisine in the microwave, another lunch in the employee lounge eating out of a plastic tray starring at the office vacation planner with zero vacation days listed under your name. Why not head over to Pacific Lutheran University for its annual Blueberry Festival to help you break the cycle (oh for crick's sake, just add some vacation days to your name already). Enjoy blueberry desserts while listening to the Celtic-irish band Mooncoyne from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Red Square by Eastvold Auditorium.
3. Wildside Wine off Sixth Avenue hosts an Airfield Estates Winery tasting from 4-7 p.m. Six bottles will be popped.
4. Olympia jazz, rock and pop band Whoa Dizzy will perform in Sylvester Park from 7-8 p.m. There's a raffle for two outdoor folding chairs.
5. The famous Big Friction Jam will go down at 9 p.m. inside Jazzbones.
