THE ZEN OF FLOW >>>
Who really knows jack about Zen?
Nola Tresslar knows. In fact, she grabbed the concept, applied it to her art and attached a copyright thingy to it. She calls it Zen Art© - artwork created in reverse on Plexiglas or glass - often incorporating natural elements, such as pressed flowers and leaves.
Mysterious.
Tresslar also creates mixed media, collage, printmaking and sumi-e artwork.
Her full spectrum of artistic talent will be on display at flow Gallery & Studio, with an opening reception during Third Thursday Artwork. The show appropriately has been titled "Full Spectrum."
There's something going on with this Zen Art© reverse thing, something powerful and clandestine. You must infiltrate flow gallery and report back with her secrets. You must tell us of all her inner machinations. We are trusting you with this reconnaissance mission - just you.

Fascinating article, beautiful work. Wish I lived closer; but Arlene and I intend our next car trip to be to the Pacific Northwest Coast. We'll see the work then.

It is wonderful to see this column giving due to one of Tacoma's truely "fine" artists. I have seen the work. Nola is one of a few Tacoma artists that have graced the south end with their exceptional work for sometime. Her work has been well loved here and far beyond her home area for a while now.Lovely to bring this refined and thoughtful work to the attention of the locals.

I am a proud owner of a Nola Tresslar piece of Sumi-e artwork. I love how she creates strength through the red & a calming presence through the black leaving you with feeling the brush strokes as you gaze upon it. A must see & enjoy!

Nola, Wonderfully creative art. I love the look which reminds me of Asian robes from long ago. Your art makes me want to reach out for a touch. Thank you!

Author, ah, artist coinage! Now you'll be known for literary talent too.
I'm a proud owner of Nola's work, including a simple, Asian behind my sofa piece and a lot of cards??"evocative conversation starters. Lucky me to also be her friend ; )
