This just in from the 7th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office:

A 7th Infantry Division Soldier killed Feb. 6 in a traffic accident on Interstate 5 has been identified as Pvt. Reymon B. Tolentino, 28, of Skokie, Ill.

Tolentino was on a transport bus returning from the Seattle-Tacoma International airport when the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in Pierce County.

There were ten soldiers on the bus. Five other Soldiers were injured, one remains in serious but stable condition. Four others were examined and released immediately following the accident.

Tolentino was a member of 22nd Engineer Clearance Company, 14th Eng. Battalion, 555th Eng. Brigade, 7th Infantry Division.

He was serving on the company's rear detachment at JBLM while most of the unit was deployed to Afghanistan. On the night of the accident he was facilitating transportation of Soldiers returning home from deployment. Tolentino had not deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Tolentino entered active duty service on Jan. 3, 2013, completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. His military occupational specialty was a combat engineer.

His awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pvt. Tolentino's family and friends in the midst of this tragedy," said Lt. Col. Douglas Brown, commander, 14th Eng. Bn. "Our focus now is on caring for the injured and supporting the Soldiers' loved ones."
