We Wrote the Book on Connectors

BOBBLE TIKI: MUSTACHE ROCK AT THE JIVE TONIGHT >>>

WE poster There are too many genres. Emo, screamo, twee pop and crunk. Who really knows what any of these classifications mean anymore? Bobble Tiki certainly doesn’t. Awash in brands, genres these days mean next to nothing.

Mustache rock, however, now there’s a musical classification Bobble Tiki can get behind â€" all prickly and coarse and full of pieces of lunch. Of course, he’s not entirely sure what “mustache rock” means, either â€" but he likes the sound of it.

The band that epitomizes mustache rock â€" in fact, the band that coined the term specifically for themselves â€" is We Wrote the Book on Connectors. The ultra quirky, ultra catchy, ultra pop-rocky foursome from Seattle will find their way to Bob’s Java Jive in Tacoma tonight.

Perhaps you already know. Perhaps you're already one of the converts. Perhaps you have had one since you were 4 and got your first domain name at 10 and you can't even spell Led Zeppelin properly, but for those who don't know, iPhone 3.0 software will be unveiled tomorrow.

Auditions for America’s Next Top Model 13 in New York City were closed after models stampeded and injured each other, freaking out over a smoking car they thought was a bomb. Besides those treated at the scene, two people were hospitalized, three were arrested for inciting a riot and one is believed to have passed out due to starvation.

Battle for Knutzen

STEVE DUNKELBERGER: KNUTZEN OPERATIONS UP FOR COUNCIL VOTE >>>

Federal Way officials are set to consider whether the city's resident professional theater company, Centerstage Theatre Arts Conservatory, or Tacoma Musical Playhouse will take on the operations of the city's Knutzen Family Theatre.

A city committee voted last week to disregard the recommendations of Department of Parks and Recreation panel that would have given the operations of the theater to TMP.

The committee's recommendation to the Federal Way City Council calls for the operations contract to go to Centerstage, which is the resident theater company at the Knutzen complex.

The matter is set for a vote on April 7.
