Crazy Daisy

Bobble Tiki had a crazy weekend.  He pulled out his Crazy Daisy.  The package says ages 3 and up, but that doesn't fool Bobble Tiki. The Fisher-Price Crazy Daisy is one of those toys that should not be wasted on kids. Here's what you do. Wait for a day when your backyard feels like the core of the sun.  Hook your hose up to the silly looking, giant plastic flower sprinkler. Open the spigot and watch the daisy go, well, crazy.  Berserk.  Nuts.  Send the kids inside to watch pro wrestling. Turn on the soundtrack to "Beach Blanket Bingo." Now it's your turn to get crazy. Invite the neighbors over (they're peeking behind the curtain anyway). - Bobble Tiki

Smashing Pumpkins reunite

Crank "Cherub Rock" to eleven!  The Smashing Pumpkins Web site reports that they have group hugged and are writing new material for a summer recording session. No release date or even details about who rejoined the fold has announced but it's simply smashing news. - Brad Allen

Jagger sitcom

MickjaggerSeveral things have occurred to Bobble Tiki since he stopped watching television:
1. He still sees Marcia Brady when he closes his eyes.
2. Poor Gilligan was kept down by the man.
3. Rosie O'Donnell killed Bobble Tiki's Betty Rubble fantasy. (Mostly)
4. Everything useful Bobble Tiki knows he learned from watching cartoons.

Bobble Tiki just might turn the tube on again as he has learned  The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger is in talks to star in a sitcom pilot screened by ABC.  Mr. Jumpin' Jack Flash's part will be as a man who becomes the target of a robbery by a group of blue collars in New York.
Jeff Goldblum was originally touted for the role, but his bug eyes freaks everyone out. - Bobble Tiki

3 Inches of Slipknot

The Weekly Volcano applauds that some moussed-up knob turner responsible for Grim Reaper or Krokus will not be producing 3 Inches of Blood's next album.  Instead, after several impressive demos with the band, Slipknot's Joey Jordison will enter the studio with the metal band out of British Columbia early this fall to produce their upcoming new album for Roadrunner. For more details, check out The PRP. - Brad Allen

Mojito on the hill

Stanley & Seafort's Mojito: The fancy joint that started the mint-muddling craze in these parts. Stanley & Seafort's mojitos are as refreshing as a cool Havana breeze. Their hand-shaken version, originally conceived in Havana's La Bodeguita del Medio, is crafted with fresh mint, fresh lime, sugar, and rum: Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Bacardi Light or Orange Cabana Boy.  If that doesn't pirate your thirst, try their Jamaican Cable Car ($6.95): Appleton Estate Jamaican rum, fresh lime and lemon sour, a splash of triple sec and bitters, shaken and served up with an allspice sugared rim.  115 E. 34th St., Tacoma, (253) 473-7300. - Brad Allen

Ugly rumor

Rumor mongers are discussing a Coyote Ugly opening up in the space that the Brickyard Bar & Grill vacated near 56th and South Tacoma Way.  A call placed by the Weekly Volcano to Coyote Ugly headquarters was met with flat denial, and a promise that anyone who copies their name will be in trouble.  That's a lot coming from a chain of saloons whose motto is "Don't Just Get Drunk, Get Ugly." - Brad Allen

Restaurant merry go-round

The Weekly Volcano has the new scoop on the saga around the old Brickyard Bar & Grill near 56th and South Tacoma Way.  Access Golf has bought the space to put in a Coyote Ugly-TYPE restaurant, according to the old Brickyard owners.  In addition, the Chop House on Lake Grove in Lakewood, across from the Lakewood Costume Shop, will take on the Brickyard name.  Stay tuned. - Jason de Paul
